This is a short review by Rachel Webb of "The Big Shakespeare Mashup" project that we ran in conjunction with Swinton highschool and Libra television in manchester. The Big Shakespeare mashup successfully engaged students, both gifted and hard to reach, with Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet by asking students to form production groups, then rewrite a scene from the play and finally make a film from their script.
